FAQs: Web Development

What is web development?

Web development is the process of building a website. It involves elements of design and programming to create a functional and easy experience for users. Web development shares elements with web design, but where web design focuses on the things that users see on a webpage, web development tends to focus on the unseen elements that make the website functional.

How to become a web developer?

In general, you'll need skills such as web design, web coding, interactive web page scripting and more. Taking web development courses can be a great way to learn about these skills and develop a solid foundation that can be used to build more advanced web development concepts on down the line. In addition to earning a web development certificate, it may also be useful to earn professional certifications to verify your skills in specific areas of web development.
