Russell Walker, Ph.D., is a senior professor at DeVry University and teaches courses in business intelligence and analytics, computer information systems, information technology, electronics and computer technology, as well as game and simulation programming. Walker joined the university in 2000, and has trained more than 200 DeVry faculty and administrators in blended delivery methodology since 2009. He also co-led the development and implementation of DeVry’s business intelligence and analytics management concentration for undergraduate and graduate students.
 
Walker is the owner and principal consultant of Walker Associates, a firm specializing in assisting healthcare companies in creating innovative diagnostic medical systems and devices since 1993. He was involved in creating an online bone fracture risk assessment tool used in nationwide osteoporosis prevention campaigns and by hundreds of physicians. He also developed algorithms and software for a patented handheld radiation probe used in cancer surgery.
 
Previously, Walker held several executive level positions at CompuMed, Inc., including senior software engineer, director of engineering and manufacturing and vice president of operations. In these roles, he managed the development and operation of systems for computerized diagnosis of heart, lung and bone disease. He also sat on the board of directors.
 
Walker earned his Ph.D. in business administration with a specialization in applied computer science from Northcentral University in 2012. He also holds a master’s of science in applied physics from California Institute of Technology and a master’s of business administration from California State University in Long Beach.
