Building the Learning Experience Around our Students

At DeVry University, students come first.

Through our educational options, students have the opportunity to pursue career-focused, real-world degree programs and credentials, experience a variety of classroom environments that complement different learning styles and tailor their class schedule to fit their lifestyle needs.

Student Support Advisor
Once a student is admitted, they are assigned a Student Support Advisor (SSA), who offers academic and financial advising, and is also available to discuss career plans, professional services and extra-curricular activities. Advisors also help students understand their plan of study and keep them on track to meet their academic goals, making them aware of all available resources offered by DeVry.

Our commitment to students goes beyond the classroom learning experience to help them feel connected to the University the moment they decide to pursue their educational goals at DeVry. We help students understand that our staff and professors are dedicated to their well-being and success in college.

Advisors also ensure students understand their financial plan, including all appropriate and accurate documentation along the way that supports the financial status and progress of their academic accomplishments. They possess accurate knowledge of the University, state, and federal financial aid policies, guidelines and regulations and help students figure out payment plan options, billing issues or other concerns that might come up during the school year.

Inspire for Advisors
Inspire for Advisors is a predictive analytics technology that signals advisors when a student is being challenged in their education path. When the software identifies at-risk students, advisors can be proactive in their outreach and work with the students who need them most, before challenges set in.

Career Services
Although DeVry does not guarantee employment, Career Services supports DeVry students and alumni with job search planning, career development and employment search.

Students and alumni can engage in one-on-one career coaching sessions and receive assistance with a variety of job search topics including resume development, interview preparation, networking and career advancement.

Career Services also offers many online tools, including an online career portal for students that contains additional job search resources and employment opportunities. Additionally, Career Services hosts virtual events throughout the year including employer webinars and virtual career fairs to engage both students and employers.

On-Site and Online Tutoring
Students can schedule one-on-one sessions with professional tutors and submit papers for review through TutorSource. They can get in-depth writing support, including tutorials and APA resources, from The Writing Source.
