DeVry University has announced the appointment of Jamal J. Scott, Ed.D. as president of the university's Tinley Park campus. In his new position, Scott will lead DeVry University’s Tinley Park campus with emphasis on improving academic quality, graduation and persistence rates. Scott will report to Susan Friedberg, president of DeVry University’s Chicago metro.
Prior to joining DeVry University, Scott held many higher education positions in administration and academics. Most recently he served as campus director for Northwestern College in Naperville, and as an adjunct faculty member for Benedictine University’s MBA program.
“DeVry University’s Tinley Park campus has a long-standing history of excellence and I am honored to be able to continue this tradition,” said Scott. “We have students who are committed to improving their lives with a quality education and, in turn, we must provide them with the resources and academic knowledge necessary to become better professionals and people.”
A native of Oak Park, Ill., Scott earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. He continued his education by obtaining his master’s degree in public administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology and later by receiving his Ed.D. in organizational leadership from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
