Unlocking Potential: How DeVry's Career Services Makes a Difference

LISLE, Ill. – June 23, 2025 – As DeVry University graduates' step into their careers, they are equipped with ongoing support and resources from Career Services. Committed to helping students thrive in today's workforce, Career Services offers extensive support that goes beyond job searching, including resume-building, interview preparation, career coaching and job search strategies to help students succeed in a competitive job market.

Krystin Felsner, a 2025 graduate, is a shining example of this support in action. After earning her Associate degree in Healthcare Technology in January, she secured a position with Nimble Solutions, a healthcare company. Though eager to enter the field, Krystin initially felt uncertain about navigating the career transition — until Career Advisor, Ashley Fulton, stepped in and provided personalized guidance.

“Career Services was heavily encouraged during my first session of classes, which was a great introduction,” Krystin shared. “When I was ready to make the switch to healthcare, I knew it was time to reach out for help with my resume and interviewing.”

Ashley, who has been with DeVry for 14 years, finds the most fulfillment in walking alongside students as they navigate their career journeys. “What I love most about Career Services is the opportunity to support students from uncertainty to clarity, celebrating their success stories along the way,” she said.

Krystin’s success is a testament to the personalized, proactive support Career Services offers. “Our career advisors don’t just offer one-time appointments; they work with students to develop tailored job search strategies, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and confidence to succeed,” adds Eric Hellige, director of Career Services.

Beyond one-on-one advising, DeVry’s Career Services offers a range of resources including virtual career fairs, employer information sessions, career development webinars and access to the HireDeVry platform — a one-stop hub for career planning and job search support. These services provide extensive support throughout a student's academic journey and well into their careers.

For Krystin, the HireDeVry platform proved to be an essential resource during her job search. “HireDeVry gave me the opportunity to connect with employers I wouldn’t have found otherwise,” she said. “It helped me track my applications and set alerts for the right opportunities.”

In addition, Ashley also provided crucial support and guidance during a pivotal point in Krystin’s journey — salary negotiation.

“We discussed how to approach the conversation, and I’m thrilled she successfully negotiated a higher salary,” she said. “We equip students with strategies, tools and resources that set them apart from other job seekers.”

Whether using HireDeVry, receiving personalized advising, or attending Career Services events, DeVry students, like Krystin, are empowered with the tools and confidence to thrive in today’s ever-evolving job market.

Building on its commitment to continuous improvement, DeVry launched an updated version of HireDeVry in April 2025. Powered by Prentus, the new platform introduces advanced AI-driven features designed to enhance the student job search experience and career development journey.

“The new iteration of HireDeVry offers a powerful combination of AI-driven tools that not only streamline the job search but also provide students with smarter job matching, personalized career insights and enhanced resources to help them stand out in today’s market,” Eric added.
