Naperville, Ill. – Jan. 12, 2022 – DeVry University Professor Mike Reitzel, Ph.D., was recently named a Fulbright Specialist, a program within the U.S. Department of State for U.S. academics and established professionals. As a Fulbright Specialist, Reitzel will travel overseas to engage in project-based exchanges at assigned “host” companies, serving as an expert consultant on critical projects.
As a faculty member teaching in the MBA program at DeVry’s Keller Graduate School of Management since 2005, Reitzel has been recognized for his leadership and contributions to the university, including becoming a key member of the Center for Teaching Excellence. Prior to joining DeVry, Reitzel had more than three decades of executive leadership experience, including general management with P&L responsibility, marketing & sales, engineering, mergers & acquisitions, business development and product development in software and electronics for technology-based product companies.
“We are proud of Dr. Reitzel’s accomplishment, and excited for what lies ahead as he grows into his role as a Fulbright Specialist,” said Shantanu Bose, Ph.D., provost and chief academic officer at DeVry University. “With his commitment to higher education and business expertise, Dr. Reitzel is well suited for this esteemed opportunity.”
The Fulbright Specialist program pairs selected academics and professionals from the U.S. with organizations in more than 150 countries to share their expertise, hone their skills and strengthen international relationships. In return, host companies gain the expertise of highly established U.S. professionals on critical priorities. Upon returning to the U.S., Fulbright Specialists continue working with their host organizations to cultivate international relationships and incorporate their experiences and newly acquired competencies into their work at their home educational institution or company.
“It’s an honor to be named a Fulbright Specialist and have the opportunity to represent DeVry University’s academic excellence to the world,” said Reitzel. “Being a Fulbright Specialist gives me the opportunity to use my background and skills to make a difference—not only at the host institution, but also to the academic community.”
