DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – March 16, 2015 – DeVry University today announced the appointment of Sheila Scott as president of its Denver metro campuses, effective immediately. In this role, Scott will provide executive leadership and oversee growth and profitability goals at the university’s Greenwood Village, Westminster and Colorado Springs locations (collectively known as the Denver metro).
Scott has more than 20 years of academic leadership experience, including serving as the senior national director of Student Central at DeVry University’s Denver metro campuses since 2001. Student Central is a "one-stop shop" that provides a variety of academic, financial and social services to support student success.
“Sheila has proven herself as a leader and has exceeded expectations since she joined DeVry University,” said Mark Cameron, group vice president of DeVry University’s south region. “Her contributions over the past 14 years and her special brand of energy, enthusiasm and dedication have helped countless students reach their personal and career goals.”
Scott began her career as an on-air radio personality at WYAV-FM in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and then at KFAV-FM in St. Louis, Missouri. Before joining DeVry University, she was student services lead manager at Westwood College. Scott has contributed to the Denver-area education and business communities through her membership in the Adams County Education Consortium, which helps local learners develop academic skills, explore different professional avenues and learn relevant work skills.
“During my time at DeVry University, I’ve had the privilege of providing students academic, career and personal guidance to help position them for success after they graduate,” Scott said. “I am passionate about continuing to support DeVry University students in making a positive impact in the Denver area and beyond.”
Scott earned her master’s degree in business administration with a human resources concentration from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management and her bachelor’s degree in interpersonal and public communications from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
