DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – May 4, 2015 – DeVry University recently announced the appointment of Amy King as president of the Addison campus in Illinois. King will provide executive leadership at the university’s Addison campus, Downers Grove, Elgin and Naperville locations (collectively known as the Addison metro).
King has more than 22 years of academic leadership experience. Prior to joining DeVry University, King worked at Rasmussen, Inc., where she served as regional director of business development for Collegis Education.
“Amy comes to DeVry University with an outstanding record of achievement by providing academic, personal and career success for students with diverse talents and learning styles,” said Darryl Field, group vice president of DeVry University. “Her multi-faceted background and strategic and collaborative leadership skills will help her to foster productive and meaningful connections with students, faculty and staff on campus, while elevating DeVry University’s presence and partnership with the local community.”
King held various leadership positions at Rasmussen College, where she served as campus president for the Illinois branches, as well as campus director of its Romeoville, Illinois location. Prior to her time with Rasmussen, King spent 15 years with Sylvan Learning Centers in roles of increasing responsibility, including center director, district manager, director of operations, senior director of operations and vice president of sales and operations.
“I am very excited and I look forward to working with all Addison area campuses and locations to further enhance DeVry University’s degree programs,” King said. “I’m committed to preparing our students for future careers and helping them to advance in all of their endeavors.”
King earned her master’s degree with a marketing emphasis from Benedictine University and bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University.
