DeVry University Statement on State of the Union

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., January 28, 2014

Sabrina Jenkins is an example of the non-traditional students DeVry University has served for over 80 years: hard-working, resourceful and often overcoming extraordinary obstacles to pursue their career goals. Her success in earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and starting her career despite her many challenges is a testament to her determination and resolve. The challenges she and other students face in financing their studies is also a concern, shared across higher education, and an issue that we continue to work on with the Administration and Congress. The White House made an excellent choice to hold up Ms. Jenkins as an example of Americans who are working hard and doing the right things to get ahead.
