DeVry University announced today the appointment of Susan Malekpour, Ed.D., as national dean of itsCollege of Liberal Arts & Sciences. She will be responsible for leading the college’s direction, growth and programs, ensuring continued development of the faculty and deans, and achieving quality student learning outcomes.
Dr. Malekpour’s distinguished background includes experience in higher education, corporate and nonprofit settings. Most recently, she was dean of the School of Education and General Education Studies at American Intercontinental University, where she was responsible for the institution’s academic integrity, high-quality learning, student retention, and compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditations standards. Dr. Malekpour also previously served as the institution’s dean of academic affairs and senior director of institutional effectiveness.

Prior to her roles at American Intercontinental University, Dr. Malekpour was program chair of medical assisting at Robert Morris College. Throughout her career, she has contributed to numerous professional publications and has presented on adaptive learning environments and general education goals and assessment.
Dr. Malekpour is an active member of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and American Society of Microbiologists (ASM). She holds a doctorate in education with a focus on adult education from National Louis University and a Master of Science in microbiology and Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Northern Illinois University.
