DeVry University has announced the appointment of Joyce Wheatley as president of its Philadelphia metro. Wheatley was previously campus dean of the DeVry University Chesapeake Campus.
Prior to joining DeVry University, Wheatley served as employment manager at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, Va. Her extensive career spans more than 20 years in a variety of operations and educational leadership roles.
Wheatley earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Delaware in Newark and a master’s degree in human resource development from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
“I have witnessed many success stories in my five years with DeVry University,” said Wheatley. “I am honored to begin this new endeavor, helping more students access the education they need to succeed in today’s in-demand career fields."
In her new position, Wheatley will be responsible for supporting DeVry University’s mission to foster student learning through high-quality, career-oriented education, integrating technology, business and management across the Philadelphia metropolitan area. DeVry University’s Philadelphia metro comprises three locations: the Fort Washington Campus, King of Prussia Center and Philadelphia (Center City) Center.
