In-Demand Careers of the 21st Century to be the Focus at DeVry University National Open House Events

More than 90 locations nationwide will host events focusing on careers with above average projected growth rates and degree programs critical to success on August 13

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., July 18, 2011

Although the US economy continues to struggle with the most recent unemployment levels at 9.2 percent, many career experts point to above-average growth projections by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for fields such as accounting, health information technology and information security. On August 13, more than 90 DeVry University locations will host National Open House events focused on in-demand careers for the 21st century, with a mission to assist local residents in reaching their professional and educational goals.

Event attendees will have the opportunity, both onsite and through an online virtual open house, to learn about emerging professions and degree programs highly sought-after by today’s top employers. Events will feature presentations on in-demand careers and financing your education, panel discussions, and the opportunity to meet with an admissions representative.

“DeVry University continues to help our students maintain a forward-thinking outlook when it comes to achieving their career and educational goals,” said David J. Pauldine, president of DeVry University. “Our unique combination of 150+ dedicated career services advisors and practitioner-oriented professors prepare DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management students for career success.”

For example, the BLS projects overall employment of accountants and auditors to increase by 22 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations.1 In an effort to meet this demand, DeVry University’s College of Business & Management offers bachelor’s degree programs that prepare graduates for careers in these fields. DeVry University is home to five colleges of study with a breadth of degree programs that enhances students’ career prospects.

DeVry University’s academic programs are focused on student outcomes and many are designed in partnership with Fortune 500-level companies to provide real-world knowledge. Courses are taught by faculty members who are industry-leading professionals and provide students with personalized attention to help prepare them for career success.

DeVry University’s National Open House Events will take place nationwide on August 13. Visit www.devry.edu for more information, timing and locations.
