What is a technical management degree?

A technical management degree combines elements of business management and technology skills with the goal of preparing students for the modern workplace. Can I earn a technical management degree online?

Absolutely! At DeVry, we offer our Bachelor's Degree in Technical Management program as an online degree program that you can work on from the comfort of your home or wherever is most convenient. Online degrees can be an excellent option for those who have other commitments, such as full-time work or raising a family, that can impede their ability to attend classes in person.

Do I need to have previous background in IT in order to pursue a technical management degree?

No, you don't need to have an IT or technical background! The Bachelor’s in Technical Management layers business administration, technology and other business concepts. It is designed to teach you the technical management concepts and systems used by some of today’s leading companies. This is our business program that is designed to accept the most previous qualifying college credits, and is one many transfer students choose at DeVry.

How long will it take to earn my bachelor's?

You can earn your Bachelor's in Technical Management in as little as 2 years and 8 months* and possibly sooner with qualifying transfer credits.

What courses will I be taking for the degree program for technical management?

When getting your technical management degree online or on-site, you can look forward to taking a variety of courses. 1Students may start this program as "Undeclared," but must select a specialization after earning 30 semester credit hours.
2Students enrolled at a New Jersey location must take 55 semester credit hours of general education coursework. Fifteen semester credit hours of general education coursework may be applied to the Electives course area.
3Students enrolled at a Pennsylvania location must take HUMN451 as part of this requirement.
4Students enrolled at a Nevada location must take POLI332 as part of this requirement or the General Education Option.
5Students enrolled at a New Jersey location may take PHYS204 or SCI200 to fulfill this requirement.
All students enrolled in site-based programs will be required to take some coursework online and, for some programs and locations, a substantial portion of the program may be required to be completed online.
