Mostafa Mortezaie, Ph.D., is a professor and faculty chair at DeVry University where he teaches courses, including a virtual learning classroom format that brings students together from two campuses. He teaches electronics engineering technology, computer engineering technology, and biomedical engineering technology.
 
A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Mortezaie is the chair of two committees in IEEE Region 6—the Professional Activities Committees for Engineers (PACE) and the Educational Activities. He also serves as the counselor for the IEEE chapter at the Newark campus.
 
Prior to joining DeVry in 1999, Mortezaie was an associate professor, program chair and department chair for Cogswell Polytechnical College in the electrical engineering and electronics engineering technology departments. He also held teaching positions at other colleges in San Jose.
 
Mortezaie earned his Ph.D. and master’s degree in electrical engineering from University of California at Santa Barbara. He also holds a master’s degree in physics from the University of Southern California.
