Presidential Scholarship

The most substantial of all DeVry awards, the prestigious Presidential Scholarship provides half tuition for the exceptional high school graduates who are chosen for it. Winners, who must also be awarded the Dean's Scholarship, are chosen by local DeVry campuses and the DeVry Online committee.

  • Open to all 2009 high school graduates who meet the following criteria:
    • Recognized as a Dean's Scholarship winner by March 9, 2009
    • Minimum of 3.33 CGPA and in the top 50% of graduating class
    • ACT composite score of 24 or higher or SAT combined math and critical reading score of 1100 or higher or CPT composite score of 430 or higher (Canada only)
    • Placed standard (LOQ entered in OSS)
    • Selected by local campus committee on essay, GPA and teacher recommendation
  • Deadline: March 9, 2009 (Decisions rendered no later than March 20, 2009.)
  • Award amount: Half tuition (valued up to $32,550)
  • Number available: 2 per campus and 2 per DeVry University Online (total of 48 scholarships annually)
  • Offered: United States and Canada, onsite or online
  • Continued eligibility: Must maintain a 3.0 CGPA, and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester

Dean's Scholarship

This merit award provides high school graduates and GED recipients with meaningful tuition assistance and, provided all eligibility requirements are met, allows recipients to apply for the most prestigious DeVry award: the Presidential Scholarship.

  • Open to all 2009 high school graduates and GED recipients with ACT composite score of 24 or higher or SAT combined math and critical reading score of 1100 or higher or CPT composite score of 430 or higher (Canada only)
  • Verification: Copy of ACT/SAT scores, or unofficial transcript showing ACT/SAT scores. (No handwritten scores on transcripts will be accepted)
  • Deadline: Have one year from high school graduation to apply to and begin coursework at DeVry
  • Award amount: $1,500 per semester (valued up to $13,500)
  • Number available: Unlimited, until scholarship dollars are depleted
  • Offered: United States and Canada, onsite or online. (including DVUCs)
  • Continued eligibility: Must maintain a 3.0 CGPA, and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester

DeVry High School Scholarship

Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and recommendation by a high school guidance counselor or principal, the DeVry High School Scholarship provides an opportunity for new DeVry students to offset the cost of their education throughout their program.

  • Open to all 2009 high school graduates who meet the following criteria:
    • In the top 50% of graduating class or have a combined CGPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale at the end of the junior year. (CGPA is determined on a 4.0 scale. CGPA conversion must be determined and supplied by the high school if the CGPA is calculated using any other scale besides 4.0.)
    • Nominated by high school guidance counselor or principal
  • Verification: Unofficial transcripts and Community Scholar Award Nomination Form (completed by high school only)
  • Deadline: July 1, 2009
  • Award amount: $1,000 per semester (valued up to $9,000)
  • Number available: 5 per accredited high school in the United States and Alberta, Canada. (Not to exceed a total of 150 per metro area).
  • Offered: United States and Canada, onsite or online
  • Continued eligibility: Must maintain a 2.0 CGPA, and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester

Cisco/CompTIA Scholarship (HS)

High school graduates or GED recipients with technical certification who are interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree at DeVry can get help paying for their higher education through the Cisco/CompTIA Scholarship. The scholarship helps foot the bill for a technology degree qualification that adds unmatched value to your resume.

  • Open to all 2009 high school graduates and GED recipients who meet the following criteria:
    • Successfully completed IT Essentials I or CCNA Semester I prior to entering DeVry University, and have received one of the following:
      • Certificate of Completion from Cisco or CompTIA stating successful completion
      • CCNET Certification
      • CCDA Certification
      • CCNP Certification
      • CCDP Certification
      • CCIE Certification
      • CompTIA A+ Certification
    • Accepted into and have begun studies in one of the following technology degree programs (program availability varies by location):
      • Biomedical Engineering Technology (Biomedical Technology in NY)
      • Computer Engineering Technology
      • Computer Information Systems
      • Electronics and Computer Technology
      • Electronics Engineering Technology
      • Game and Simulation Programming
      • Health Information Technology
      • Network and Communications Management
      • Network Systems Administration
      • Web Graphic Design
  • Verification: Unofficial transcript or qualifying certificate mentioned in eligibility section
  • Award amount: $1,200 per semester (valued up to $10,800)
  • Number available: Unlimited, until scholarship dollars are depleted
  • Offered: United States and Canada, onsite or online
  • Continued eligibility: Must maintain a 2.0 GPA, and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

Banco Popular Scholarship (HS)

Available to outstanding high school seniors who dream of earning a college degree but may not have the financial means to pay for it all themselves, the Banco Popular "Dream Big" scholarship provides a gateway to students to reach their fullest potential.

  • Open to high school seniors who meet the following criteria:
    • Live in Illinois, Texas, New Jersey, New York or Florida
    • Attend the Chicago IL, Irving TX, North Brunswick NJ, Long Island City NY, or Miramar FL campus (in state of residency)
    • Minimum CGPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale at the end of junior year
    • Provide proof of Banco Popular Account
    • Meet DeVry University entrance requirements
    • Provide letter of recommendation from a member of the community outlining demonstrated community service, volunteerism and leadership skills
  • Deadline: March 29, 2009
  • Award amount: $1,000 per semester (valued up to $9,000)
  • Number available: 48 scholarships awarded per approved market
  • Verification: Unofficial transcripts
  • Continued eligibility: Must maintain a 2.0 CGPA, and a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester
