Master of Business Administration (MBA) Courses

Keller's MBA* degree program requires the successful completion of 16 MBA courses, including a foundation of nine core courses, which provide a thorough understanding of advanced managerial concepts; six elective courses, which provide the flexibility necessary to meet professional and personal goals; and a culminating capstone course that allows you to put your new skills and knowledge into practice.

The nine required core MBA courses are as follows:

  • Leadership and Organizational Behavior (GM591)
  • Managerial Applications of Information Technology (IS535)
  • Marketing Management (MM522)
  • Managerial Accounting (AC505)
  • Managerial Finance (FI515)
  • Legal, Political and Ethical Dimensions of Business (GM520)
  • Business Economics (GM545)

MBA Elective Courses and Concentrations Align with Your Career Goals

The flexible structure of Keller's MBA coursework is designed so that you can tailor your MBA courses to match your career interests and professional goals. Depending on your area of intent, you also may be able to earn a graduate certificate with your MBA degree. For a general MBA, choose any six from the courses in the Keller academic catalog for which you meet the prerequisite(s). Or, pursue a concentration by selecting two electives for which you meet the prerequisite(s) and a mix of four courses in any of the following areas:

If you have relevant experience, you may be able to tailor your coursework by waiving required courses. For example, if you are a licensed CPA, have passed parts of the CPA exam, or hold an undergraduate accounting degree, you may be eligible to waive one or more of the accounting foundations courses in the accounting concentration; however, each course waived must be replaced with an elective course as noted in the section describing your chosen emphasis.   • Business Planning Seminar (GM600)
    Drawing upon multi-disciplinary knowledge gained throughout your Keller MBA, real-world capstone projects provide the unique opportunity for you to demonstrate relevant business judgment and analytical models in the context of current and emerging opportunities. As a required part of your Keller program, the capstone course provides a unique opportunity hone your professional skills while you complete your MBA.
