You might not know that DeVry University offers millions of dollars in scholarships and grants every year, including $45 million in available funds for the 2013-2014 school year. These are gifts that you do not have to pay back, and they are available to students residing in both the United States and Canada.*

We have a wide variety of scholarships available. To qualify for a DeVry University Scholarship, you must first meet the following criteria:

  • You must have applied for admission to DeVry University.
  • You must have met the DeVry University entrance requirements.

In addition, each DeVry University scholarship has its own unique qualifying criteria. Below you will learn more about the different types of scholarships from DeVry that may fit you. One of our advisors can also help you identify scholarship opportunities and complete any necessary applications.

Applicants are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to identify federal, state and other financial aid that may be available.

High School Graduates/GED Recipients

Herman DeVry Scholarship

This merit award provides tuition assistance to new students beginning an undergraduate degree at DeVry University.

  • Initial eligibility:
    • Satisfy minimum academic performance in one of the following ways:
      • Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
      • ACT composite score of 22 or higher
      • SAT combined math and critical reading score of 950 or higher
      • GED
  • Deadline: Recipients have one year from high school graduation or GED completion to apply and start at any DeVry University location.
  • Award amount: $2,225 per semester (valued up to $20,000)
  • Offered: United States and Canada, onsite or online
  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 CGPA
    • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester

International Students Scholarship


Scholarship Award

Qualified international recipients studying in the United States on an approved F-1 student visa can receive a one-time scholarship in the amount of $2,000 after completing two semesters of enrollment and meeting eligibility criteria.


Application Deadlines

Student must meet all enrollment requirements to be admitted into the university prior to the start of the session in which they are applying to start. Students that choose to defer enrollment may only do so for up to two sessions.


Scholarship Criteria

Candidates must demonstrate academic preparedness to qualify for the International Student Scholarship. In addition to the standard admission criteria as set forth by the DeVry University/Keller Graduate School of Management academic policy, the following International Student Scholarship award criteria must be met for both undergraduate and graduate degree programs:
1. Must enroll in a undergraduate or graduate degree program at DeVry University or its Keller Graduate School of Management
2. Standard placement in English on DeVry administered placement testing
3. Academic Achievement – Must satisfy one of the following:
       a. Must provide official proof and meet a minimum score on one of the following standardized ESL tests:

       a. 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate degree programs
       b. 6 credit hours per semester for graduate degree programs
5. Have met valid United States F-1 Visa status


Continuing Eligibility Criteria

1. Must maintain:
       a. 2.5 CGPA for undergraduate degree programs
       b. 3.0 CGPA for graduate degree programs
2. Must maintain valid United States F-1 Visa status
3. Must remain continuously enrolled in a minimum of:
       a. 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate degree programs
       b. 6 credit hours per semester for graduate degree programs


Additional Notes

  • United States and Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not eligible
  • Readmit and resume students are not eligible
  • Alumni of DeVry and Keller are not eligible
  • Scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships or special tuition pricing offered by DeVry University or its Keller Graduate School of Management

Transfer Students

College Transfer Scholarship

This merit award provides tuition assistance to students transferring to DeVry University who want to earn a bachelor's or associate degree.

  • Initial eligibility:
    • Earned at least 20 transferable credit hours for any accredited two or four year school outside of DeVry University
    • Minimum college cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Award amount: 2,250 per semester (valued up to $18,000)
  • Offered: United States and Canada, onsite or online
  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 CGPA
    • Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester

Veterans

Veteran's Appreciation Grant

Extending our appreciation for military service, DeVry University offers a Veteran's Appreciation Grant to help provide assistance for hardworking, talented students who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Open to new students who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, their respective reserve forces, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard) and can provide a copy of one of the following items:

  • DD214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty
  • NGB22 National Guard Report of Separation or Record of Service
  • Award amount: $500 per semester (valued up to $4,500)
  • Offered: United States, onsite or online
  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 CGPA
    • Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester

Note: Current members of the U.S. Armed Forces (those serving on active duty, guard, reserve, and their spouses) who qualify for the military tuition rate and veterans who received a dishonorable discharge are not eligible for this grant.

*General Scholarship Policies

  • Scholarship recipients are responsible for all other educational expenses.
  • Only degree-seeking students enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester will receive a scholarship award unless otherwise noted in the criteria.
  • Scholarship applications must be received prior to the start of classes to be eligible.
  • To qualify for scholarship funds, students must maintain continuous enrollment on a semester basis. Students may take only one semester off during their enrollment.
  • Students eligible for multiple special tuition rates, pricing programs or scholarships receive the one most beneficial.
  • Must be a United States or Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
