Career Catalyst Scholarship Eligibility Requirements


 

 

 

 

The Career Catalyst Scholarship is a merit-based award offered to new students enrolling in the November 2014 Session at DeVry University who want to earn an associate or bachelor's degree.**





  • Availability: Funds are available for the upcoming November 2014 session.
  • Initial eligibility: 
    • Standard placement in Math and English on DeVry administered placement test or placement equivalency satisfied by transfer credit
      – AND –
    • Prior Academic Performance:
      • Cumulative GPA: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (or 78% on 100 point scale) from high school or college transcript from an outside institution



  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 CGPA
    • Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester

We have a wide variety of scholarships available. To qualify for a DeVry University Scholarship, you must first meet the following criteria:

  • You must have applied for admission to DeVry University.
  • You must have met the DeVry University entrance requirements.

Transfer Students/Adult Learners


DeVry Success Scholarship

This merit award provides tuition assistance to new students beginning a bachelor's or associate degree program at DeVry University.

  • Availability: Funds are available for the upcoming November 2014 session.
  • Initial eligibility:
    • Standard placement in Math and English on DeVry administered placement test or placement equivalency satisfied by transfer credit
    • For associate degree seekers, cumulative GPA: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from high school or college transcript from an outside institution
  • Award amount: $1,000 per semester (valued up to $12,000 bachelor's/$6,000 associate)
  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester


College Transfer Scholarship

This merit award provides tuition assistance to students transferring to DeVry University who want to earn a bachelor's or associate degree.

  • Availability: Funds are available for the upcoming November 2014 session.
  • Initial eligibility:
    • Earned at least 20 transferable credit hours for any accredited two or four year school outside of DeVry University
    • Minimum college cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Award amount: $2,250 per semester (valued up to $18,000)
  • Continued eligibility:
    o    Must maintain a 2.5 CGPA
    o    Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester

High School Graduates/GED Recipients


Students must have applied and satisfied all scholarship criteria by Friday, October 24, 2014 (or earlier if total allocation is reached prior to this date) to be awarded for the November session.

 

DeVry Success Scholarship

This merit award provides tuition assistance to new students beginning a bachelor's or associate degree program at DeVry University.

  • Availability: Funds are available for the upcoming November 2014 session.
  • Initial eligibility:
    • Standard placement in Math and English on DeVry administered placement test or placement equivalency satisfied by transfer credit
    • For associate degree seekers, cumulative GPA: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from high school or college transcript from an outside institution
  • Award amount: $1,000 per semester (valued up to $12,000 bachelor's/$6,000 associate)
  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester

 

Herman DeVry Scholarship

This merit award provides tuition assistance to new students beginning an undergraduate degree program at DeVry University.

  • Availability: Funds are available for the upcoming November 2014 session.
  • Initial eligibility:
    • Satisfy minimum academic performance in one of the following ways:
      • Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
      • Minimum ACT composite score of 22 or higher
      • Minimum SAT combined math and critical reading score of 950 or higher
      • Minimum GED score of 2,800 on 2013 exam or 680 on 2014 exam or state equivalent
  • Deadline: Recipients have one year from high school graduation or GED completion to apply for the Herman DeVry Scholarship.
  • Award amount: $2,225 per semester (valued up to $20,000)
  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester

Veterans

 

Students must have applied and satisfied all scholarship criteria by Friday, October 24, 2014 (or earlier if total allocation is reached prior to this date) to be awarded for the November session.

 

Veteran's Appreciation Grant

Extending our appreciation for military service, DeVry University offers a Veteran's Appreciation Grant to help provide assistance for hardworking, talented students who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

  • Availability: Funds are available for the upcoming November 2014 session.
  • Initial eligibility:
    • Open to new students who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, their respective reserve forces, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard) and can provide a copy of one of the following items:
      • DD214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (Member 2 of Member 4 copy)
      • NGB22 National Guard Report of Separation or Record of Service (Member 2 of Member 4 copy)
  • Award amount: $500 per semester (valued up to $4,500)
  • Continued eligibility:
    • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester

    Note: Current members of the U.S. Armed Forces (those serving on active duty, guard, reserve, and their spouses) who qualify for the military tuition rate and veterans who received a dishonorable discharge are not eligible for this grant.

International Students

 

Students must have applied and satisfied all scholarship criteria by Friday, October 24, 2014 (or earlier if total allocation is reached prior to this date) to be awarded for the November session.


New international students studying in the U.S. on an approved F-1 student visa are eligible for the Career Catalyst Scholarship and DeVry Success Scholarships. Applicants are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to identify federal, state and other financial aid that may be available.

General Scholarship and Grant Policies

  • Recipients are responsible for all other educational expenses.
  • Only degree-seeking students are eligible for scholarship or grant funds.
  • Must be a United States citizen, Canadian citizen or reside within the United States. International students studying on a visa not eligible unless specified in specific award criteria.
  • Readmit and resume students are not eligible for DeVry scholarships unless specified within specific award criteria.
  • Alumni of DeVry University or its Keller Graduate School of Management are not eligible for scholarships unless specified within specified award criteria.
  • Scholarship or grant applications must be received prior to the start of classes to be eligible. Award recipients who do not start in their intended term specified on admissions application are subject to use requirement allowing recipient one subsequent term to start classes and utilize award. Recipients who do not start within two terms will have their award expired and will have to reapply for available offerings at time of actual enrollment.
  • Scholarship and grant recipients are expected to meet certain continuing eligibility criteria and progress in a timely manner toward completing their programs. To retain scholarship or grant eligibility, recipients must remain in good academic standing and meet additional conditions outlined in the terms and conditions document sent to award recipients.
  • To qualify for scholarship or grant funds, students must maintain continuous enrollment on a semester basis. Students may only be under enrolled or take only one semester off during their enrollment to remain eligible for funds.
  • Students eligible for multiple group tuition rates, pricing, programs, scholarships or grants will receive the one most beneficial.
  • Recipients must acknowledge receipt of the terms and conditions document pertaining to their specific scholarship or grant award. Disbursement of funds may be withheld until receipt of this document is acknowledged in writing and returned by recipients.


*In the 2014-2015 award year (7/1/14 to 6/30/15), DeVry will make $75 million available for scholarships and grants to new and continuing students who meet merit and need-based qualifications.
