Flexibility is the name of the game for Elana Meyers, pilot of the U.S. Women's Bobsled Team and MBA student with a concentration in Finance at DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management. Flexibility in what sport she competes in. Flexibility in the way she manages school while training for the Olympics. Even flexibility in where she does her studying.

At the age of nine, Elana set her sights on being an Olympian. When it was announced that her chosen sport of Softball would be dropped from the Olympics roster, Elana followed her parents' advice and switched to Bobsled. It wasn’t an easy transition, but with sheer determination and the help of a solid support group, Elana made the national team in 2007. At the 2010 U.S. Winter Games, her lifelong dream was realized: she took home the bronze medal in the Women's Two-Man Bobsled competition. She continued her success at the 2014 U.S. Winter Games, taking home the silver medal.

While Elana continues to train full-time, she understands the important role her education will play after she leaves the bobsled track. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and a Master's Degree in Sports Management from George Washington University. Now, Elana is working towards her MBA with a concentration in Finance at Keller Graduate School of Management.

Elana really appreciates the care and attention of Keller's professors and advisors. Whenever she runs into a challenge with her coursework, her professors carve out time to walk her through the material. Given that Bobsled is one of the most expensive Olympic sports, Elana even credits her accounting and finance courses with helping her manage that aspect of her athletic career.

But perhaps her greatest flexibility is in her study methods. How many people do you know who would listen to an online finance lecture while they warm up on a stationary bike, or read finance textbooks while they're getting treatment in sports medicine? Because she finds finance so interesting, Elana enjoys every minute of her schoolwork.

After her athletic career, Elana hopes to secure a leadership role at the United States Olympic Committee. And she credits Keller Graduate School of Management for preparing her to achieve that goal.
