Program Details — Business Operations Program, General Business Option Plan I

When appropriate, and in lieu of an area of study, students may select the senior project course, BUSN-460, and a sequence of business or technical courses that is closely aligned with their personal career goals. Selected coursework must total at least 27 semester-credit hours, and the student's total program must include at least 42 semester-credit hours of upper-division coursework (DeVry courses numbered 300-499). All course prerequisites for the selected coursework must be satisfied. Business sequences are typically built from the array of courses listed in the business operations areas of study, or shown in the elective choices. Technical sequences focus on a particular career area and need not be business-related. Approved sequences comprise a coherent series of inter-related courses and are determined by students in consultation with the business program administrator. They may include selected DeVry coursework, qualifying coursework from a prior college experience or a combination of both. The plan provides a solid base in business fundamentals and general education, as well as in-depth skills in an area of interest. This combination of knowledge and skills qualifies graduates to contribute to organizational success in a wide variety of areas.

DeVry has an articulation agreement that recognizes courses for transfer credit from Dalhousie University's School of Health Services Administration. Students wishing to pursue a management career in the health services sector may be eligible to take these courses for credit toward completion of their DeVry area of study requirements in the Business Operations program.

Program Details — Business Operations Program, General Business Option Plan II

This option provides a direct path for qualified graduates of approved Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration programs in India to earn a recognized bachelor's degree. The program also paves the way for graduate study if desired. In lieu of choosing a focused area of study leading to specialized knowledge and skills, students choose to become business generalists, familiar with many aspects of international business and qualified for entry-level opportunities in the principal business functions of finance, operations and marketing. Eligible students receive general credit of 83 semester-credit hours for their qualifying degree and must meet the additional course requirements for graduation listed below.

This option provides a degree-completion plan for graduates of two-year diploma programs from approved Canadian post-secondary institutions. As many as 60 credit hours of transfer credit may be awarded toward the minimum 124 credit hours required to graduate from the Business Operations program.
