Why DeVry University-Military?
I enjoy helping military students get started with their degrees or help them complete them. I have met a lot of great people through this job. It warms my heart when someone thanks me for being persistent and for believing in them. My reward for providing good customer service is the referrals I receive. When I receive a referral because someone is confident that I can help a friend or family member, it is a great feeling especially if I did not ask for referrals. The students are the reason why I come to work every day.

A round of applause should be given to Corey, because he will be graduating in January and looks forward to the opportunities his BSTM degree will bring him.

Time Management

You and your time...
We know that being a military member and attending school can severely tax what little free time you have. So, we wanted to take this opportunity and offer some advice on making the best use of your school time.

Develop blocks of study time
How about 50 minutes a day? 50 minutes a day gives you adequate time to post quality responses in class and catch up on any reading that is required.

Take breaks during your study time
If you become increasingly restless when you study, take more frequent breaks. Remember... the more difficult the material the more frequent your breaks should be.

Prioritize your assignments
When studying, get in the habit of beginning with the most difficult subject or task.

Schedule
You should schedule additional time for critical course events like papers, presentations, tests, etc.

You should also use time management aids such as:
Writing a "To Do" list - helps you manage your time on a day-to-day basis.

Long term management aids include:
Daily/weekly planner - allows you to write down appointments, classes, and meetings in a chronological log book or chart. If you are a high tech soldier and have a PDA or Pocket PC...Use it! It will help you manage your school schedule much easier.
